Rattler isn’t leaving Carolina

Spencer Rattler wants to keep playing for the South Carolina Gamecocks.

Rattler announced on Tuesday night that he would join Antwane Wells and return to Columbia for the 2023 season. In 2022, Rattler completed 66 percent of his passes for 3,026 yards with 18 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. A former 5-star recruit from Arizona, Rattler transferred to South Carolina from Oklahoma, where he spent the previous three seasons.

“Time flew by,” he told reporters after the Gator Bowl. “It was the fastest year of my life. I feel like football-wise – it sounds crazy that I got here almost a year ago. This year is such a blessing. God had me here for a reason. I’m definitely going to pray on my decision and see what God has in store for me next. Definitely going to pray on it, talk to my family, talk to a lot of people.”
